SLINKACHU

• An artist that is inspired by lonliness in city living.
• Born in Devon in 1979, Slinkachu moved to London in 2002 where he pursued a career in commercial art and design. 
• In 2006, Slinkachu embarked on the first of his street art installation campaigns: The Little People Project. His miniature figures are left to fend for themselves in the city, where they are then photographed and left to the abandon of their environment.
• An incite a renewed perspective of the everyday urban experience to those who find them. sense of isolation and accompanied by a sense of irony and humour that makes Slinkachu's commentary all the more poignant.

This artist uses macro photography to get close focused images of his little figures.

DECISIVE MOMENTS

-Known as the 'perfect image' or 'moment'.
-Need to know the exact moment of when you need to take the image.
-Know that it's something you want to take.
-A moment where everything comes together.
-Capturing the moments with a fast shutter speed

-If an image was taken a minute before or after it wouldn't be a decisive moment as it would be a completely different moment, even if it was the same background or subject. the movement would be different.

MACRO photography :]

MACRO photography is where the camera is set to a really close up setting and take pictures of close up objects. With a desk light, it made the object lighter and helped the camera focussed. We explored this and took a range of pictures with different textures. Here's what I came up with...

PHOTO NOTES-lesson 2.

FOCUS - the subect, the light reflecting from the subject, the lens correctly focussed, the light refracted by lens onto sensor.
SHUTTER SPEED - how fast the shutter opns and closes to let the light into the camera.
Expressed fraction

• 1/250th of a second is fast (catch in motion)
• 1/30th of a second is slow (dark conditions)

APERTURE - how big the opening of the lens is to let light in (like our eyes)
Expressed in f-numbers

• F/2.1 is large
• F/22 is small

The higher the number, higher the depth of field.

ANALOGUE PHOTOGRAPHY:

Capture - a lens on the camera which transfers the imagine onto the light sensitive film

Process -  developing into a negative the image is then transferred...

Store - onto photographic paper.

DIGITAL PHOTOGRAPHY:

Capture - the light sensitive sensor captures the images which then is transferred to...

Process - a data processor which then is transferred to...

Storage - a simcard to store the image/data.

RAW -  saves the image into a high quality file.
JPEG -  reduces the quality of the image
.tif -  tagged image file (printe.d best)
.pst - photoshop document (not saved as image)
.gif - graphics interchange format (animated images)

Megapixels:

6mp: less squares, more lifelike the image is.

1mp: more sqaures, less quality the image is.
